Open letter from the Setian Family

Dear Friends:

This has been a long and difficult road for us since December of last year. On that December night many of you came by to support us, share your love for our son and remind us that life was worth living, even in the face of unfathomable tragedy. In a sense, on that night, all of you saved us and for that, we are both eternally grateful.

It is a sad time for everyone involved and it is our hope that when Mr. Garrison leaves prison, he will have learned a valuable lesson and seeks out a path for the rest of his life that will be both good and valuable to society as a whole.

We also hope that his sentence will serve as an example and deterrent to all those who may choose to act irresponsibly and spare families like ours the same grief, pain and suffering we have experienced.

We vow to continue the work of the Vahagn Setian Charitable Foundation and dedicate ourselves to making it a living legacy for the memory of our son. In the coming months, your support and participation will help us reinforce the belief that Vahagn was a truly exceptional young man who touched so many lives and continues to touch those lives to this day.

From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to thank each and every one of you for your selfless love, support and encouragement. Without it, we are not sure we could have made it this far.

You will always be part of our family.

Much love,

Karén and Ida
